NORFOLK - Effie Kornegay Holt, of 6376 Glenoak Drive, a native of Mount Olive, 
N.C., and the widow of Joseph W. Holt, died Friday in her home.
She was retired from the Wayne County, N.C., public schools and was a member of 
St. Mary’s Catholic Church, St. Mary’s Women’s Club, Third Order of St. Francis 
and Catholic Daughters Court 1212 of Norfolk.
Survivors include a daughter, Eulalia H. McCray, of Norfolk; and a niece.
A Mass of the Resurrection will be said at noon Tuesday in St. Mary’s Catholic 
Church by the Rev. Thomas J. Quinlan. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery. A 
Christian wake service will be said at 7 p.m. today in Hale Funeral Home. Memorial 
donations may be made to the Restoration Fund of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
