Hooten, age 66 years, widow of William H. Hooten, and daughter of the late Edward B. and Mrs. Sarah Brinson Land, a native of North Carolina and a Resident of Norfolk for many years, died yesterday afternoon at 12:35 o’clock at a local hospital. She resided at No. 18 Chesapeake street, Ocean View, at the time of her death. Surviving her are one daughter, Mrs. G. L. McClure; two sons, R. B. Hooten and William H. Hooten, Jr.; 11 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two sisters, Mrs. J. T. Portlock, and Mrs. C. E. Land, all of Norfolk; three brothers, L. D. Bray, of Norfolk; Walter S. Land, of Princess Anne County, and John S. Land, of Lynn, Mass. Remains will be taken from the H. D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, No. 1901 Colonial avenue, to Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Ocean View, for services Monday morning at 10 o’clock. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Rosary services will be held at the H. D. Oliver Funeral Apartments tomorrow evening at 8 o’clock.
