He was a native of Baltimore and lived in this area since 1962. He was the husband of the late Louise Robinson Horchner. He was a 1918 graduate of Hotchkiss School and Yale University in 1922. He was a member of Galilee Episcopal Church. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Louise Ro. Failing of Utica, N.Y., and Mrs. Charlotte H. Riordan of Kinnellon, N.J.; two sons, Richard S. Horchner of Virginia Beach and John P. Horchner of Bernardsville, N.J., 12 grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter. A memorial service will be held Thursday at 1:50 p.m. in Galilee Episcopal Church by the Rev. John Jordan. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Norfolk, with H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, Laskin Road, in charge. The family asks that flowers be omitted.
