Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Saturday, September 8, 2001 
NORFOLK - Lucille ``Cece'' Horne of the 2800 block of Waverly Way, died Sept. 5,
2001, at Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital. Born in Sunbury, N.C., she was
a homemaker and a member of Queen Street Baptist Church.

The widow of Ulysses Horne Sr., she is survived by a son, Ulysses Horne Jr. of
Williamsburg; three grandchildren, Melnina Reid of Norfolk, Sheryl Horne of
Houston, Texas, and Tawanda Harris of Rocky Mount, N.C.; two
great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews including a special niece, Dorothy
Bradly; a special friend, Jean Hurston; and a host of other relatives and friends.

A funeral will be held at noon Monday at Queen Street Baptist Church by the Rev.
Dr. Peter Wherry with burial in Calvary Cemetery . The remains will be ready for
viewing Sunday from 3:30 to 8 p.m. The family will assemble at 706 Ballentine
Blvd. at 11 a.m. Monday for the procession. The remains will be placed in the
church at 10 a.m. Carlos A. Howard Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel, is handling
arrangements.
