Joseph Henry Amiss D.D., a former well-known Methodist minister of Norfolk and vicinity, and Mrs. Joyce Elizabeth Roscoe Hathaway Amiss, died in Washington, Monday at 11 p.m. She was a native of Edenton N.C., a former resident of Norfolk for many years, and had resided in Alexandria for the past 35 years. She was a member of Epworth Methodist Church, of Norfolk, and of Jessica Callahan Chapter 91, Eastern Star, of Alexandria. She is survived by one son, Dr. Henry Amiss Hornthal, and one granddaughter, Miss Ann Hall Hornthal, both of Washington, and several nieces and nephews, including Frank A. Dusch, of Virginia Beach. Funeral services will be in Washington today. The body will be taken from the H. D.
