Son of Peter and Jane Carter Horton, he was a native of St. Augustine, FL and had lived in Norfolk 18 years. He was formerly employed by Norfolk Mattress Co. six years and was a member of St. John’s A.M.E. Church, where he was active in the Men’s Bible Class. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Nellie Horton; a daughter, Mrs. Alice Scott of Richmond and a sister, Mrs. Katie Skipper of Jacksonville Fl. The body was taken to Riddick Funeral Home.
