Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Thursday, July 2, 1998 
Melvin Hosch Jr., 61, of the 1100 block of Greenwood St., died June 28, 1998, at
his residence.

Born in Shelby, N.C., he was a truck driver for Bay West Transfer.

Survivors include his wife, Gloria A. Hosch; four daughters, Tamara Hosch,
Phyllis Knockett of Norfolk, Marcella Hosch and Maxine Hosch of Akron, Ohio; his
father, Melvin Hosch, and stepmother, Dorothy Hosch, both of Shelby, N.C.; six
sisters, Ruth Cheek, Barbara Stewart, Janice Black and Diane Johnson of
Virginia, Gayle Hosch of Shelby, and Sharon Handy of Virginia; two brothers,
Michael Hosch and Roy Hosch of North Carolina; six grandchildren; and a host of
other relatives and friends.

A funeral will be conducted at noon Friday in St. Timothy Church, Suffolk, by
the Rev. Allen Clark. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery . The family will
receive friends at 1124 Greenwood St. The procession will leave the residence at
11 a.m. for the church. E.A. Hughes Funeral Home is in charge.
