                           DEMISE OF MRS. HOSIER

Mrs. Mary J. Hosier, wife of W.J. Hosier, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. 
L. Schwarz, No. 17 Madison Square, New York, Monday. Mrs. Hosier was a woman of 
many excellent traits of character and her death will be a source of sorrow to 
her many friends in Norfolk, who knew her only to love. She was a consistent 
Christian and was for man years a devoted member of Centenary M.E. Church. 
Besides her husband, she is survived by three sons and one daughter, Messrs. 
W.J. Hosier, Jr., W.E. Hosier and Charles S. Hosier and Mrs. L. Schwarz, of New 
York. Her remains will arrive her via the New York, Philadelphia and Norfolk 
railroad this morning and her funeral will be solemnized from Centenary Church 
at 9 o'clock a.m.

The funeral of Mrs. Mary J. Hosier, wife of Mr. W.J. Hosier, Sr., of Norfolk, 
was held at Centenary Methodist Church soon after the arrival of the remains 
from New York via the New York, Philadelphia and Norfolk railway yesterday 
morning.  The service was conducted by the pastor, Rev. William R. Proctor, in 
the presence of a large congregation.  There was a profusion of beautiful floral 
tributes sent by friends of the deceased.  The remains were laid to rest in 
Elmwood Cemetery.  Following were the pallbearers:  Messrs. William Bullock, 
Thomas Land, Abe Moses, E. Wharton, Thomas Glenn and E.B. 
Jones.
