Whitney Houck, agent of the California Fruit Company, will learn with sorrow of her death, which occurred at the residence of her husband, No. 209 Brown Avenue, Brambleton Ward, yesterday. Mrs. Houck recently returned from Florida and had been ill but a few days. Her death is a severe blow to her husband as well as a painful surprise to her large circle of friends and acquaintances, who knew her only to love her. She was a woman of rare Christian graces. Her funeral will take place from the house this afternoon at 4 o'clock. ***************************************************************************** Mrs. Laura V. Houck, beloved wife of Mr. J.W. Houck, of Baltimore, Md., died at the residence of her nephew, Mr. J.C. Sterling, 209 East Brown Avenue, yesterday at 4:15 p.m., aged 39 years. She resided in the ward some years ago. She was summoned hither about two weeks ago to attend the bedside of her sister, Mrs. Mary Sterling who is now in extremis. Her funeral will take place from the residence this afternoon at 4 o'clock. Norfolk Virginian May 19, 1897 The obsequies of the late Mrs. Laura Virginia Houck, wife of Mr. J. Whitney Houck, took place from the residence of her nephew, Mr. J.C. Sterling, No. 209 Brown Avenue, Brambleton, at 4 o'clock yesterday afternoon and was largely attended. The service was conducted by Rev. R.J. Bamber of the Church of Christ, assisted by Rev. H.C.
