One of six siblings, Patty and her twin brother, Michael, were born to parents Robert and Shirley Lordeon in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, on May 14, 1962. Even as a child, Patty’s hallmark was her kindness and ability to connect with most anyone she met. Her musical gifts led her to become a dedicated choir member at her alma mater, Saint Paul’s Cathedral High School. Patty married Joel Scott Hough in 1986 and together they had three sons – Damian, Ryan, and Sean – who were Patty’s greatest pride and joy. Scott’s Naval career eventually led the couple to Patty’s adopted hometown of Norfolk, Virginia where Patty became a dedicated employee of ABNB Credit Union. Despite experiencing the losses of several family members, including her youngest son, Sean, Patty’s heart never hardened – instead she became more steadfast in her desire to be a light for others. After leukemia claimed the life of her younger sister, Joanne, in 1996, Patty became a regular platelet donor to honor her sister’s memory. She loved volunteering in the community with her ABNB coworkers. Patty was not one to seek the spotlight herself but constantly looked for reasons to celebrate others – once she entered your life you could count on the fact that she would remember every birthday and would be the first in line to congratulate you on your accomplishments. Patty loved music and spoiling her dear pet cats. She was a beloved mother, loyal sister, doting aunt, and steadfast friend. More than anything, she was a person who loved people – those she knew and those she didn’t. Those who had the blessing of experiencing her love will miss her fiercely. Patty is survived by her husband, Joel Scott Hough, her sons Damian Hough and Ryan Hough, her sisters, Nan Pellegrini (Robert), Susan Jennings (James), her twin brother Michael (Dawn), her sisters-in-law, Tracy Gipko(George), Robin Walchesky( Dave) and Patricia Lordeon(Lawrence), and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Shirley Lordeon, her stepmother Joyce Lordeon, her father-in-law, C.L. Hough, her mother-in-law, Jeannie Kluttz Hough, her sister, Joanne Lordeon, her brother, Lawrence Lordeon, her nephew, Jake Gipko, and her son, Sean Hough. A remembrance hour will be held at 12:00 PM on Tuesday, October 8th at Hollomon- Brown Funeral Home in Norfolk, with a memorial service to directly follow at 1 PM. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Norfolk. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation towards pancreatic cancer research to the American Cancer Society in Patty’s name. Patty’s family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Timothy Platz and Dr. Nieka Harris, the staff at Portsmouth Naval Hospital, Virginia Oncology Associates, and Dr. Sinclair McCracken and the staff at TPMG Thimble Shoals Family Medicine for the compassionate care they provided to Patty and family over the past year.
