Norfolk Virginian March 17, 1898

The funeral of Mrs. Jessie Seneca Houghton took place at 11 o'clock yesterday 
morning from the residence of her father, Mr. J.L. Seneca, No. 116 Mariner 
street and was largely attended.  The service was conducted by the Rev. M.B. 
Wharton, D.D., of the Freemason Street Baptist Church and the interment was in 
Elmwood Cemetery.  The following were the pall-bearers:  Alfred Clay, F.B. 
Lowell, James A. Ridgewell, F.H.Gale, Dr. M.R. Allan, Dr. F.A. Sutton, Robert 
Stevens and H.N. Paulson
