Norfolk - Mrs. Elsie S. Houston of 500 Walnut St. Berkley, the widow of 
Roosevelt Houston and a native of Kinston, NC, died Sunday in a hospital.

She was a former member of Antioch Holiness Church, Kinston.

Survivors include a son, Freddie Simmons of Raleigh, NC, three sisters, Mrs. 
Mamie Smith of Berlin, MD, Mrs. Ella Johnson of Trenton, NC, and Mrs. Bertha Lee 
Moore of Kinston, three brothers, Charlie Simmons Jr. of Kinston, Johnnie 
Simmons of Pittsburgh, PA, and Randolph Simmons of Hornell, NY, and a 
grandchild.

A funeral service will be held Friday at 1:30 p.m. in Metropolitan Funeral Home 
by Elder Wilson Taylor.  Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.  The family is at 
her home.
