Funeral rites were held at First Baptist Church, Logan Park, Tuesday, Nov. 17, 
for Alex Houston, Sr., 65.  The Rev. Harold Braxton, pastor, officiated.

Mr. Houston, of 1125 Logan street, died in a Norfolk hospital Nov. 13 after a 
short illness.

A native of Savannah, TN, the deceased had lived here more than 15 years.  He 
was a member of Logan Park Church.

The son of Henry and Mrs. Mollie Houston, he is survived by his wife, Mrs. 
Frances Houston;  three daughters, Mrs. Frances Stone, Mrs. Harris Pirtlie and 
Mrs. Lois A. Leer, Jackson, TN;  son, Alex Houston Jr., Nashville, TN;  and two 
sisters, Mrs. Florine Lowroy, Savannah TN;  and Mrs. Lity M. Holt, Inkster MI.

Burial was in Mt. Olive Cemetery, with Citizens Funeral Home in charge.
