Richard Howard, 72, of 3000 Virginia Beach boulevard was given final rites 
Sunday at New Calvary Baptist Church.  The Rev. Samuel A. Wilson delivered the 
eulogy.  Hale Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements with interment in 
Calvary Cemetery.

He was a native of Southampton County.

Mr. Howard’s survivors include his wife, Mrs. Mary Howard;  a daughter, Mrs. 
Jennette Howard Wiggins of Brooklyn;  a brother, Robert Howard of Steubenville, 
OH;  two sisters, Mrs. Betty Bergess of Philadelphia and Mrs. Hattie Watson of 
Englewood, NJ;  and a grandchild.
