Howard, died Thursday in a hospital. He was assistant director of the evening and summer programs at Old Dominion University and was retired from the Civil Service. He was in the Postal Service for 36 years and then served as academic advisor for NETSCLANT, Naval Supply Center. He was a graduate of Norfolk State University and held a master's degree from Hampton Institute. He was a member of Grace Episcopal Church and its Men's Club and was leader of the Pioneer Men's Bible Class. He was a veteran of World War II and a member of Alpha Phi Alpha fraternity, Hiawatha Club, and Chesterfield Club. Other survivors include four sisters, Miss Doris Howar, Miss Mable Howard, and Mrs. Deloris Pritchard of Norfolk, and Miss Vernice Howard of Washington, D.C.; and a brother, Vernon Howard of Miami. A funeral will be held Monday at 2 p.m. in Grace Episcopal Church by the Rev. Joseph N. Green. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. a service will be held by Alpha Phi Alpha fraternity tonight at 7 p.m. in Jones Funeral Home. Memorial donations may be made to the Pioneer Men's Bible Class of Grace Episcopal Church.
