Former Norfolkian Dies In New York, Body Brought Here

NORFOLK - Walter E. Howard, 73, husband of Mrs. Fannie J. Howard, and son of the 
late Walter E. Sr., and Mrs. Hannah Wilson Howard, a native of Norfolk, and a 
resident of New York City for 15 years, died at his New York home Monday, 
December 4, at 7:30 p.m.

Mr. Howard was a retired longshoreman and a long-standing member of Shiloh 
Baptist Church of this city, and an associate member of Union Baptist Church in 
New York.

Besides his wife, he is survived by five sons, David E., Walter O., and Roland 
Howard, all of New York; William Donald of Connecticut, and J. Bernard Howard, 
Sr., of Norfolk.

Also, four daughters, Mrs. Virginia Tucker, Mrs. Jeanetta Clark, Mrs. Louise 
Jones and Miss Geraldine Howard, all of New York; one brother, William Howard, 
Norfolk; two sisters, Mrs. Gertrude Williams, Norfolk, and Mrs. Annie Cason, 
Norfolk.
