NORFOLK - James Howard of 414 Nicholson St. died Monday in a hospital.

A native of Bertie County, N.C., he was he husband of Mrs. Luddie Howard and a 
son of the late Dempsey and Mrs. Minnie Howard.

He was retired from the City of Norfolk.

He was a member of Queen Street Baptist Church. He was an Army veteran of World 
War I.

Besides his widow, surviving is a brother, Willie Howard of Philadelphia.

A funeral service will be held Friday at 3:30 p.m. in Queen Street Baptist 
Church by the Rev. J. Jasper Freeman. Burial will be in Jones Memorial Park, 
Virginia Beach. Graves Funeral Home has charge.

Additional Comments:
Note the obituary refers to burial in Jones Memorial Park, but the Death 
Certificate and Burial information confirm Calvary Cemetery instead.
