Robert C. Howard, 77, Building Worker, Dies

NORFOLK - Robert Charlton Howard, 77, of 118 Prish Rd., died Thursday at his
residence after a long illness.

He was a native of Charlotte, N.C., and had lived in Norfolk most of his life. He
was retired form the Tidewater Construction Co., where he was employed for more than
18 years. He was a member of Metropolitan A.M.E. Zion Church, where he served as a
class leader.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Elena Howard; one son, Leon Howard of Suffolk; six
daughters, Mrs. Alvanor Rosebury of Winston-Salem, N.C.; Mrs. Cleona Green of
Brooklyn, N.Y.; Mrs. Edna Carr, Mrs. Delores Stewart, Mrs. Algene Fairfax and Miss
Jean Howard, all of Suffolk; one brother, Walter Howard of Kannapolis, N.C.

The body was taken to the Hair Funeral Home.
