He had been sick six months. Mr. Howard had been a resident here for 50 years and was one of Berkley's well known and esteemed citizens. He was a son of the late William F. and Mrs. Emaline McDonald Howard, of Portsmouth and was a member of the Berkley Avenue Baptist Church. Mr. Howard is survived by these children: Mrs. C.E. Rudd, Mrs. Grace Sykes, Mrs. Joel Wood, Mrs. W.M. Thomas, of this city; Mrs. Charles T. Madrey, of Richmond and J.D. Howard, of Berkley; two sisters, Mrs. Annie Dawley, of Norfolk and Mrs. Robert Hewitt, of South Norfolk and six grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at the residence Monday afternoon at 4 o'clock and burial will be in the family lot in Magnolia Cemetery.
