Virginian-Pilot April 23, 1952
Mrs. Lydia Ward Howe, 89, widow of Richard P. Howe, and daughter of Hannah 
Godfrey and Randolph Ward, died at a Norfolk hospital yesterday at 6:33 a.m., 
after a long illness.
She was a native of Princess Anne County, and had resided in Norfolk most of her 
life. She was a member of McKendree Methodist Church and was active in the Belle 
Bennett Circle of the church. She also held membership in Virginia Chapter No. 
22, Order of the Eastern Star.
Mrs. Howe is survived by a sister, Mrs. C. E. Channing, of Norfolk.
She resided at 4307 Newport Avenue.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Thursday 
at 1 p.m. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
