NORFOLK - Mrs. Gladys Watson Howell, 56, wife of James D. Howell and daughter of 
Mrs. Katie Watson Henderson and the late Junius Watson, died in a Norfolk 
hospital yesterday at 1:55 p.m. after a long illness.
She was a lifetime resident of Norfolk, residing at 535 Meads Rd. She was a 
member of Temple Baptist Church. For a number of years, she had been employed by 
Southgate Foods Inc.
Besides her husband and mother, Mrs. Howell is survived by two sisters, Mrs. 
Junie M. Thomas and Mrs. Mary F. Hall, both of Norfolk, and a number of nieces 
and nephews.
The body was removed to the Cox Funeral Home, where funeral services will be 
conducted at a time to be announced. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
