C., for 31 years, died at a Washington hospital Thursday at 7:45 p.m. after an illness of two weeks. She was a native of Gloucester and resided in Norfolk prior to moving to Washington. She was a daughter of the late John Thomas and Mrs. Catherine DuVall Kemp. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, of Washington, and the W. B. A., Norfolk. Surviving her are a daughter, Mrs. Jenniewee G. Holmes, and a son, William H. Howell, both of Washington; two grandsons, Sgt. A. Holton Howell, USA, New Haven, Conn., and William Hobbs Howell, of Norfolk, and two great- granddaughters. The body will be brought to Norfolk and taken to the Cox Funeral Horne, where services will be conducted tomorrow at 3 p. m. by the Rev. Ira Astin, pastor of McKendree Methodist Church. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery. The family will be at the residence of Mrs. Howell's niece, Mrs. W. C. Clark, 3716 Hamlin Avenue.
