NORFOLK — Lewis "Bud" Howell, 85, of 1527 Arkansas Ave., a native of Edenton, 
N.C., and the husband of Lottie Bright Howell, died Sunday in a hospital.
Mr. Howell had retired after 44 years as a clerk. He was a Baptist and was a 
member of Naomi Masonic Lodge and John Walters Royal Arch Chapter.
Survivors include nieces and a nephew.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at graveside in Elmwood Cemetery 
by the Rev. Larry Miles. Smith & Williams Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel, is in 
charge. The family will be at his home. Memorial donations may be made to the 
American Cancer Society or Coleman Place Presbyterian Church.
