Norfolk Virginian Pilot April 30, 1941

 James Henry Hoy, aged 59, husband of Cora Virginia Atkinson Hoy and son of the 
late John O. and Mrs. Mary Ellen Corbett Hoy, died at the residence of his 
sister, Mrs. Joseph Ferris, 1228 West Twenty-sixth Street, last night at 7 
o'clock. Mr. Hoy, a native and lifelong resident of Norfolk, for the past 25 
years was superintendent of the M.T. Blassingham & Co., lumber dealers. He was a 
member of the Holy Name Society of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church.
Besides his wife, Mrs. Cora Virginia Atkinson Hoy, he is survived by two 
sisters, Mrs. Joseph Ferris and Mrs. M.T. Blassingham; an aunt, Miss Katie 
Corbett, all of Norfolk and several nieces and nephews.
Remains will be taken from the H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, 1501 Colonial 
Avenue to Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, of which he was a member, for 
funeral services, Thursday morning at 10 o'clock. Interment will be in St. 
Mary's Catholic Cemetery. Rosary services will be held at the H.D. Oliver 
Funeral Apartments tonight at 8:30 o'clock.

and Mrs. Mary Ellen Corbett Hoy, aged 59 years. Remains will be taken from the 
H. D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, No. 1501 Colonial avenue, to Blessed Sacrament 
Catholic Church for services THURSDAY MORNING at 10 o’clock. Friends of the 
family are invited to attend. Interment, St. Mary’s Cemetery.
