He was 75 years old. Hal was born in Maine on May 4, 1945. His mother was Norma Alexander and his father was Frank Hoyt. He was preceded in death by his wife of 42 years, Dolores Wittman Hoyt. He is survived by his daughter, Valerie Sawyer and her husband, Mark, and their children, Will and Ryan; his son, David Hoyt and his wife, Michelle, and their children, Jeffrey, Torie, Andrea, Grant and Faith; and great- grandson, Nicholai. Hal was a veteran of the United States Navy and was retired from Norfolk Southern Railroad. Hal grew up in Maine and enjoyed yearly hunting trips to his home state with his son. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed cultivating his much-loved vegetable garden. He was especially proud of his prized tomatoes. Funeral services will be held at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Great Bridge Chapel, on Saturday October 10, with viewing at 10:00 AM and the funeral service at 11:00 AM.
