Virginian-Pilot October 5, 1909
Miss Kate Hubbell died at her home, Twenty-seventh street and Killam avenue, at 
11 o’clock a.m. Sunday after two years' illness, in the 30th year of her age. 
The deceased was the daughter of Mrs. Caroline Hubbell. She was a native of 
North Carolina but had been a resident of Norfolk for twelve years. Besides her 
mother, she is survived by two sisters — Mrs. A. C. West and Mrs. J. O. Harris, 
and two brothers, W. E. and T. W. Hubbell. The funeral was solemnized from her 
late residence at 3 o'clock yesterday afternoon and was conducted by Rev. W. G. 
Starr, D.D., of the Cumberland street Methodist church. The interment was in 
Elmwood cemetery.
The following were the pallbearers: Mr. Getney, O. H. Bell, C. M. Stover, Thomas 
Oglesby, B. R. New and Preston Belvin.
