Ellen was a resident of Harbour Pointe Nursing Center for the past 2½ years after suffering a stroke in May 2006. She will be missed by her dear roommate at Harbour Pointe, Melodie Phipps. The family appreciates the care and attention given to Ellen by the wonderful staff at Harbour Pointe and the compassionate nurses at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. Also appreciated was the religious ministry provided by Dr. Patrick Hennelly from Sacred Heart Church. Ellen's life will be celebrated in a memorial Mass at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 8, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Graydon Avenue in Norfolk. Mass will be followed by a gathering of family and friends in the church social hall. Please share your memories of Ellen with the family at H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments' site, www.hdoliver.com.
