Daughter of the late Burton Grant and Mrs. Clara Scribner Smith, she had been a resident of Norfolk for 42 years. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. Besides her husband, she is survived by one son, Curtis Randolph Hudgins, Jr; one daughter, Mrs. Lincoln P. Rice; two granddaughters, Margaret Randolph Rice and Jane Barron Hudgins; two sisters, Mrs. J.S. Beckham, of Washington, and Mrs. Howard J. Henderson, of Rochester, N.Y. Funeral services will be conducted at the H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments tomorrow at 2 p.m. by the Rev. Edward H. Jones, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery. A spokesman for the family requested that flowers be omitted, but that those friends who desire to make an expression, do so in the form of a modest contribution to the Women's Auxiliary Memorial Fund of Norfolk General Hospital.
