Virginian-Pilot August 24, 1949
Mrs. Beulah Estelle Hudgins, 57, wife of John T. Hudgins and daughter of the late 
Monroe W. and Alice Rhodes Carter, died yesterday at 9 a.m. at the residence of 
her daughter, Mrs. Margaret Hudgins Johnson, 406 East Hampton Avenue, Hampton.
A native of Richmond and a former resident of Norfolk, she had lived in Hampton 
for two years.
Besides her husband and daughter, she is survived by two sons, Jackson G. Hudgins 
and Franklin M. Hudgins, both of Norfolk; three grandchildren, W. Burke Johnson, 
Jr., and Leigh H. Johnson, of Hampton, and Richard G. Hudgins, of Norfolk.
Funeral services will be conducted at Ewell & Williamson Funeral Home Thursday at 
2 p.m. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
