NATIVE OF MATHEWS CO. DIES IN NEWPORT NEWS
NEWPORT NEWS, Dec. 23 - Charles Francis Hudgins, aged 74, died suddenly Sunday.
Mr. Hudgins was born in Mathews County, and came here about 47 years ago. He is 
survived by six children, Clyde G. and Charles Edwin Hudgins, of Washington, 
D.C.; Wilbur H. Hudgins, of California; Walter A. Hudgins, of Newport News; Mrs. 
Cecil Frost and Mrs. Carl Payne, of Hampton. He is also survived by 23 
grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
For a number of years, Mr. Hudgins had been connected with the Chesapeake and 
Ohio Railway Company.
Funeral services were conducted from Rouse's funeral chapel this morning at 10 
o'clock.
