A lifelong resident of the county, he was the husband of the late Mrs. Josie E. Hudgins. His parents were William Franklin and Mrs. Olevi Davis Hudgins. He was a member of Old Donation Episcopal Church. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Walker A. Howren; a son, William F. Hudgins; and a stepdaughter, Mrs. Virginia Day, all of Virginia Beach; three grandsons, three great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be conducted Saturday at 11 a.m. in H. D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, Norfolk, by the Rev. Beverly Tucker of Old Donation Episcopal Church and the Rev. A. B. Blount, pastor emeritus of Kempsville Baptist Church. Burial will be in the family mausoleum in Elmwood Cemetery, Norfolk.
