NORFOLK — Louise Hanbury Hughes, 81, a retired City of Norfolk registrar, died 
Feb. 13, 1990, in a nursing home.
Mrs. Hughes, a Norfolk native, had retired after 10 years. She was a member of 
Freemason Street Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, James C. Hughes, a grandchild and two great-
grandchildren.
The graveside service will be conducted at noon Thursday in Elmwood Cemetery by 
the Rev. Lany Miles., Friends may join the family at 3560 Buckingham St, 
Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association. Smith & 
Williams Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel, is handling arrangements.
