SOUTH NORFOLK - Jeremiah W. Hughes, 53, of 1415 Martin Ave. died Sunday night in 
his home after long illness.

He was a son of Miles and Mrs. Martha Sears Hughes. He was born in Tarboro, 
N.C., and lived here 34 years.

He was a member of Hood's Chapel A.M.E. Church.

Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Flossie Hughes; a daughter, Mrs. Georgia Mae Hines 
of Philadelphia, and a grandchild.

The body was taken to Fitchett's Funeral Home, South Norfolk. A funeral service 
will be held in Hood's Chapel A.M.E. Church Sunday at 1:30 p.m. by the Rev. A. 
C. Littlejohn, pastor. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Norfolk.
