Hughes, for many years assistant foreman in the Norfolk and Western railroad shops at Lambert's Point, died at his residence, at the Point, yesterday morning at 7 o'clock. Mr. Hughes had been indisposed for several days, but his illness was not thought to be of a serious nature. He was 46 years old. The funeral of Mr. James (sic) A. Hughes took place yesterday afternoon at 2 o'clock from his late residence, at Lambert's Point, Rev. J. D. Powell, of the St. Mark's Episcopal Church, officiating, assisted by Rev. B. D. Tucker, D.D., of old St. Paul's Episcopal Church. The interment was in Elmwood Cemetery.
