Virginian-Pilot May 25, 1946
John Fitzhugh Hughlett, age 45, husband of Mrs. Mildred Sarah Hughlett and son 
of the late Octavius Winter and Mrs. Lucy Tomlin Carter Hughlett, died at 6 
o'clock yesterday morning at a local hospital. Mr. Hughlett was a native of 
Whitestone and had been a resident of Norfolk for 27 years, residing at 7-A 
Buckingham Apartments, 1611 Hampton Boulevard. Besides his wife, he is survived 
by a stepson, Lieut. Quinnan H. Hodges, U.S. Army, and two brothers, O. W. 
Hughlett, of Norfolk, and Carter Hughlett, of Berkeley, Calif.
Services will be held in the chapel of the H. D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, 
Sunday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock with the Rev. George P. Gunn, rector of the 
Church of the Good Shepherd, Meadowbrook, officiating. Burial will be in Forest 
Lawn Cemetery.

He is buried in Elmwood Cemetery.
