Humphries, died yesterday morning at 10:30 o'clock at the family residence, Lafayette avenue, Oakdale, after an illness of only a few hours. The deceased was well known in her community and was highly respected. She was a native of Bertie County, N.C. and was 45 years old. She had been a resident of Berkley and vicinity 26 years. She is survived by a husband and six children. The deceased was a member of Good Will Council No. 6, D. of A. The funeral will be conducted from the South Norfolk Baptist Church this afternoon at 5 o'clock, Rev. W.A. Smith, pastor of the Berkley Avenue Baptist Church, officiating. The interment will be in Magnolia Cemetery. *************************************************************************** The funeral of Mrs. Pernecy Humphries, wife of K.R. Humphries, was conducted from the South Norfolk Baptist Church Sunday afternoon. Rev. W.A. Smith, pastor of the Berkley Avenue Baptist Church, officiated. The interment was in Magnolia Cemetery. The attendance was large, including a large delegation from Goodwill Council No. 5, D. of A., of which the deceased was a member. The pallbearers were: J.L. Riggs, J.J. Curling, L. Curling, James Johnson, W. Askew, L.D. Rawles, George W. Overman, W.J. Curling.
