Norfolk Virginian April 6, 1895

Mrs. Alice Humphries, wife of Mr. P.L. Humphries, died very suddenly at her 
husband's residence, on Liberty street, yesterday evening at 6 o'clock.  
Mrs. Humphries had been sick for about two weeks, but was thought to be 
improving as she went out in the yard yesterday for a short while.  After 
returning she sat down on a sofa and expired in a few minutes.  She leaves 
one child about three months old.  Her funeral will take place from her late 
residence this afternoon at 3:30 o'clock.

The funeral of Mrs. Alice Humphries, wife of Mr. P.L. Humphries, took place 
from her husband's residence on Liberty street Sunday morning at 9:30 
o'clock and was largely attended by relatives and friends.  The services 
were conducted by Rev. H.N. Quisenberry, of Berkley Avenue Baptist Church.  
The remains were interred in Magnolia Cemetery.
