Virginian Pilot and The Norfolk Landmark February 21, 1922

Kennith Reynor Humphries, 61 years old, died at his residence, 507 Elizabeth 
street, at 9:45 o'clock last night after a brief illness.  He was born in Camden 
County, N.C. and had lived in Berkley for forty years.
Mr. Humphries was the son of the late Malachi and Matilda Cartwright Humphries.  
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Sallie Humphries and the following children:  
Mrs. J.T.L. Schweitzer, of Norfolk County; Mrs. W.H. Harrell, of Campostella; 
Mrs. J.E. Pigot, of South Norfolk; Mrs. Reuben Seay, of Lafayette Residence 
Park; Mrs. Thomas Newbern, of South Norfolk; also by one brother, T.C. Humphries 
and a sister, Mrs. Jack Zackquidley, of South Norfolk.
The body was taken to the funeral parlors of E. Lee Cox.

K.R. Humphries -- The funeral of Mr. Humphries, who died suddenly at his home in 
Elizabeth street Monday night, was conducted at the home of his daughter, Mrs. 
William H. Harrell, Princeton avenue, Campostella at 4 o'clock yesterday 
afternoon by Rev. Mr. Lindsay, pastor of the Campostella Baptist Church.  The 
attendance was large and the floral tributes were beautiful.  Burial was in 
Magnolia Cemetery.  The pallbearers were:  W.T. Grape, E.L. Price, of Chesapeake 
Tribe No. 50 I.O.R.M.; Z.R. Jernigan and E.L. Grimes of Tidewater Council No.  
80, Jr. O.U.A.M.; L. Hollomon and R.E. Lee, of Lee Lodge No. 74, I.O.O.F.
