Virginian Pilot and The Norfolk Landmark June 20, 1922

John Robert Humphries - Funeral services for Mr. Humphries, who died Sunday 
morning at his home, 51 Poindexter street, South Norfolk, were held at the 
residence yesterday afternoon at 5 o'clock, Rev. C.E. Green, pastor of the 
Chesapeake Methodist Church, officiating.  Mr. Humphries was justice of the peace 
of South Norfolk.  The attendance at his funeral was large and the floral tributes 
were beautiful.  Burial was in the family lot in Magnolia Cemetery and the 
pallbearers were Frank Robertson, J.S. Wilson, J.R. Harrell, Henry Wilson, David 
Allen and Mr. Privott.
