Humphries, whose critical illness from Typhoid Pneumonia was announced in yesterday's issue of the Virginian-Pilot, died at his residence, on Avenue B, Atlantic City Ward, at 5:40 o'clock last evening, in the 43rd year o of his age. The deceased was born in Washington, D.C., but came to Norfolk nearly 23 years ago, where he has since resided. He is survived by a widow, who was a Miss Elizabeth Crocker, daughter of Mr. Rufus Crocker, of this city, and six children. He was a most excellent citizen, and highly esteemed by a large circle of friends and acquaintances, who will learn with sorrow of his demise. He had been employed for the past seven years by the Merritt Wrecking Company as a diver, and was regarded as one of its most valuable employees. His funeral will take place from his residence at 3 o'clock tomorrow afternoon, and will be conducted by Rev. Father T. J. Wilson, of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
