W. Taylor Willis, the rector, and the Rev. E. P. Miner, rector of St. Mark's Episcopal Church, officiating. Interment was in Elmwood Cemetery. Dr. Hunter was a veteran of the World War, a captain in the Medical Corps, and, in addition to the organizations previously listed, was a member of the Huguenot Society of America. There was a very large attendance and a profusion of floral offerings. Delegations from the various organizations of which he was a member were in attendance. Honorary pallbearers were Dr. H. W. Phillips, Dr. R. E. Whitehead, Dr. Southgate Leigh, Jr., Dr. Stanley H. Graves, Dr. James E. Diehl, Dr. Paul D. Camp, Dr. C. C. Smith, Dr. J. Warren White, Dr. N. G. Wilson, Dr. Franklin D. Wilson, Dr. R. B. Nicholls, Dr. Clayton W. Eley, Dr. Edgar S. Webster, Rev. William E. Callender, Comdr. Allen M. Cook, U.S.N. (retired), Robert P. Beaman, Eugene L. Burruss, N. Charter Burruss, F. Garnett Jordan, R. Henry Moore, Horace Hoggard and Willie E. Pettit. The casket was handled by undertaker's assistants.
