Virginian-Pilot December 30, 1959
NORFOLK - Mrs. Sallie Trower Hunter, 90, widow of James O. Hunter and daughter 
of Capt. William H. and Mrs. Delitha Cutler Trower, died at her residence, 4200 
Colonial avenue Tuesday at 6:45 a.m.
She is survived by a daughter, Miss Alma L. Hunter, two sons, James P. Hunter 
and Hilery S. Hunter, all of Norfolk: three grandchildren, Mrs. Sue Hunter 
Bennett of Richmond, James R. Hunter and Thomas P. Hunter, both of Norfolk, a 
great-granddaughter and nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Hunter was a lifelong resident of Norfolk and was a member of Park Place 
Baptist Church and the T. E. L. Bible Class.
A funeral service will be conducted at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home Thursday at 2 
p.m. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
