VIRGINIA BEACH - Martha Syvania Nesbit Hunter, 82, of Moon Valley Drive, passed
away Sept. 4, 2003 at Virginia Beach General Hospital.
Born in Norfolk, she was the widow of Alexander Hunter Sr., to whom she was
married to for more than 56 years. She was an active member of St. John AME
Church in Norfolk.
She is survived by a daughter, Brenda A. Williams of Virginia Beach; and a son
and his wife, Cornell W. Hunter Sr. and Diane N. Hunter of Fort Washington, Md.
She will also be sorely missed by a sister, Hazel Scott of Portsmouth; a
brother, Timothy Nesbit of Portsmouth; two granddaughters, Pamela R. Williams
and Krystal N. Williams of Virginia Beach; two grandsons, Earl C. Williams of
Virginia Beach and Cornell W. Hunter Jr. of Fort Washington; one great-grandson,
Brandon R. Williams; and a host of nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends.
A funeral will be conducted at noon Monday at St. John AME Church, 545 E. Bute
St., Norfolk, by the Rev. Larry Hinton. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
Viewing will be from 1 to 6 p.m. on Sunday at Riddick Funeral Service.
