Mrs. Sara Flynn Hunter, wife of Carey Thomas Hunter, and daughter of Mrs. Mary 
McDermott Flynn and the late Joseph Edward Flynn, died Wednesday at 10 p.m., at 
Brooklyn, N.Y. Mrs. Hunter, a native and former resident of Norfolk, had been a 
resident of Brooklyn for the past 20 years. Besides her husband, Carey Thomas 
Hunter, she is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Seymour I. Nadler, and one son, 
Joseph Edward Hunter, all of Brooklyn; her mother, Mrs. Joseph Edward Flynn; one 
granddaughter; six sisters, Mrs. W. Howard Cloonan, Mrs. Alice Flynn Robertson, 
the Misses Margaret, Josephine, May Ellen, and Ruth Flynn; one brother, Charles 
Edward Flynn, and a niece, Mrs. Edward Carlton Macon, all of Norfolk. The body 
will be brought to Norfolk for funeral services and interment at a time to be 
announced later.

HUNTER, SARA FLYNN - At Brooklyn, N.Y., Wednesday, April 4, 1945, at 10 o’clock 
p.m., SARA FLYNN, wife of Carey Thomas Hunter and daughter of Mary McDermott 
Flynn, and the late Joseph Edward Flynn. Remains will be taken from the H. D. 
Oliver Funeral Apartments, No. 1501 Colonial Avenue, to St. Mary’s Catholic 
Church, for services THIS (Saturday) MORNING at 11 o’clock. Friends of the family 
are invited to attend. Interment, St. Mary’s Cemetery.
