The Virginian Pilot and Norfolk Landmark May 23, 1934
Robert Fulton Hurdle, aged 65, died at 9:05 yesterday morning at his home in 
Churchland, Norfolk County, after an illness of four weeks. A son of the 
late Seth and Mrs. Mary Benton Hurdle, he was a native of Gates County, 
N.C., and had made his home in this section practically all of his life. Mr. 
Hurdle was a member of the Churchland Baptist Church. Surviving him are his 
wife, Mrs. Minnie Hall Hurdle; one son, Robert F. Hurdle, Jr., of 
Philadelphia; two brothers, Elisha Hurdle, of Portsmouth, and Horace Hurdle, 
of Richmond, and one grandchild.
Funeral services will be conducted at the residence in Churchland Thursday 
afternoon at 3 o'clock. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery.
