MATHEWS - Mrs. Irene Hudgins Hurst, 88, died Wednesday in a Richmond hospital.

A native of Mathews County, she was the widow of Floyd C. Hurst.  She was a
member of the Bethel United Methodist Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Marie Hurst Sibley of Richmond;  and a son,
F. Graham Hurst of Kitty Hawk, NC.

A funeral service will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in Foster-Faulkner Funeral Home
by the Rev. William E. Hindman.  Burial will be 2 p.m. Friday in Elmwood
Cemetery, Norfolk.
