Virginian-Pilot, January 26, 1968
NORFOLK - Mrs. Sarah Block Hurwitz, 70, of 901 B. Armfield Circle died Thursday 
in a hospital in Augusta, GA.
She was the widow of Joseph Allen Hurwitz and a daughter of Ellis and Mrs. 
Tillie Block.
A native of Lithuania, she lived here 62 years. She was a member of Temple
Israel, its Sisterhood, and Golden Age Club.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Paul Robbins of Norfolk and Mrs. Daniel 
Silbert, of Augusta; three brothers, Morris Block of Norfolk, Robert Block of 
Jacksonville, Fla., and Sidney Block of Virginia Beach; and four grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held in H. D. Oliver Funeral Apartments today at 3:30 
p.m. by Rabbi Joseph Goldman of Temple Israel. Burial will be in B'Nai Israel 
Cemetery.
