Norfolk - Margaret "Midge" Broaddus Hutchison died peacefully in her home in 
Hayes, VA on Nov. 28, 2013. Born in Norfolk, she resided in Norfolk, 
Charlottesville and Amherst and Gloucester Counties. She attended Mary 
Washington and Old Dominion Universities. She was a member of the Episcopal 
Church. Midge was predeceased by her parents, John B. and Margaret T. Broaddus. 



She is survived by her husband, Peter C. Hutchison, Jr.; two sisters, Susan and 
Ann Broaddus; nephew, James H. Nowell, III; her maternal uncle, Bill Tharp 
(Fran) and their daughters, Barbara J. Tharp , Joy T. Balash (Danny) and their 
daughter, Lindsey B. Jennings (Garrett) and daughter, Raelynn Jennings, Jill T. 
Forehand (Andy) and their children, Katie and Justin; sister in law, 
Charlotte "Polly" H. Glassburner; and nephew, Pete Glassburner.



Her love and humor will be greatly missed.



A graveside funeral service will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. on Tues., Dec. 3 in 
Elmwood Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Abingdon Rescue 
Squad, 2676 Hayes Rd., Hayes VA 23072. H. D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Norfolk 
Chapel is handling arrangements.
