He was a son of James Bell and worked for Gunter Bros. Construction Co. for 11 years. Other survivors include a daughter, Ms. Annette L. Hyman of Norfolk; two stepdaughters, Ms. Cheyenne Bailey of Chesapeake and Ms. Deborah Mason of Norfolk; five sons, Edward Hyman Jr., Eddie Hyman, Dwayne Hyman, Louis Earl White and Richard J. Hyman of Norfolk; three sisters, Mrs. Annie Jones and Ms. Christine Riddick of Plymouth, and Mrs. Gracie E. Ayers of Washington; seven brothers, Ronney Taylor of Brooklyn, Charles Hyman, William Riddick, Nelson Riddick of Plymouth, Horace L. Riddick and Alphonso Riddick of Virginia, and Samuel Riddick of Mt. Vernon, N.Y.; and seven grandchildren. A funeral will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. in Graves Funeral Home Chapel by Elder Carlton Hopkins. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. The family will be at 812 Smith St., Young Park.
