The Virginian Pilot and Norfolk Landmark Sunday September 23, 1928
Mrs. Alice E. Hyslop, aged 82, widow of Robert A. Hyslop, died yesterday at 
5:15 a.m. at the residence of her son-in-law, Mordaunt Etheredge, 514 
Massachusetts avenue, Colonial Place.  She was a native of Norfolk County 
and had spent her entire life in this section.  Surviving her are four 
daughters, Mrs. R.H. Eberly, Mrs. Mordaunt Etheredge, Mrs. John J. Dunbar 
and Miss Mamie F. Hyslop; four grandchildren, Robert Hyslop and Mary 
Mordaunt Etheredge and Ralph D. and Alice Earle Eberly, all of Norfolk, and 
one brother, Mathew Halstead, of South Norfolk.
Funeral services will be held at the residence tomorrow afternoon at 2:30 
o'clock.  The Rev. L.E. Smith, D.D., pastor of the Christian Temple of which 
she was a member, will officiate.  Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
